About the Role

The company is seeking Mould Maintenance Engineers to join its engineering team. This position offers a clean working environment, autonomy, and the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving the efficiency of their plant.

As part of the team, you will provide multi-skilled technical services to ensure the effective and efficient running of the plant. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern over a 14-day cycle, requiring flexibility and commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Diagnostics:

  • React promptly to breakdowns and quality issues, diagnosing and rectifying problems efficiently.
  • Perform planned maintenance in line with the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) process.
  • Provide engineering and technical services to improve plant performance.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Programme and monitor equipment to optimize throughput while adhering to quality standards.
  • Input into manufacturing facilities, including layouts and services.
  • Use escalation procedures for significant issues such as quality or downtime concerns.

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and other relevant standards.
  • Participate in emergency procedures and adhere to risk assessments (general, manual handling, COSHH).
  • Implement and maintain 5S processes and procedures.

Quality Assurance:

  • Raise and address quality care points.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality concerns.
  • Participate in quality checks and controls.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Engage in projects to improve safety, uptime, maintenance, equipment modifications, and cost reductions.
  • Support the company’s Continuous Improvement Program (CIP).
  • Share knowledge and participate in training and development programs.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Apprenticeship-trained in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic disciplines.
  • Formal qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Engineering.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Experience with hydraulics, PLC systems, and robotic systems (Kuka, ABB).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database tools.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a large injection moulding shop.
  • Ability to write technical reports and work under pressure.

Work Schedule

Rotating shifts over a 14-day period:

  • Week 1: Monday-Tuesday (07:00–19:00), Friday-Sunday (19:00–07:00)
  • Week 2: Wednesday-Thursday (07:00–19:00)
  • Week 3: Monday-Tuesday (19:00–07:00), Friday-Sunday (07:00–19:00)
  • Week 4: Wednesday-Thursday (19:00–07:00)
