About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Highways Design Project Manager/ Design Engineer to lead and manage large-scale highways and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. This role involves delivering innovative solutions within frameworks such as National Highways, Local Authorities, and Homes England. You will play a pivotal role in managing project designs, collaborating with clients, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Design Management:

  • Lead design teams in delivering high-quality highway design projects.
  • Manage design processes, ensuring adherence to technical standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Review and approve design submissions from internal teams and external consultants.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency and project progress updates.
  • Lead client and internal meetings, providing clear reports on project deliverables, quality, and financial status.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
  • Support staff through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including DMRB and PCF processes.
  • Maintain best practices in collaborative design, including BIM and 3D modelling.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or actively working towards it).
  • Extensive experience in highway design project management.
  • Proven track record managing National Highways, Local Authority, or County Council-led projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of DMRB and National Highways’ PCF processes.
  • Familiarity with BIM and 3D design technologies.
