About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Project Manager to lead nationally significant public sector and nuclear projects. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring successful project delivery, and collaborating with key stakeholders. Reporting to the Director for PCM Nuclear, you will play a critical role in driving project success while maintaining a focus on quality, governance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Inspire and empower project teams to achieve objectives.
- Establish effective ways of working across multidisciplinary teams.
Contract & Design Management:
- Manage NEC 3/4 contracts, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Lead design teams and oversee timely delivery of deliverables.
Project Oversight:
- Develop and monitor project schedules, addressing variances as needed.
- Prepare stakeholder reports and oversee financial management.
- Identify and mitigate risks, while seizing opportunities for improvement.
Quality & Governance:
- Ensure consistent application of quality assurance standards.
- Establish governance structures to define roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
Stakeholder & Change Management:
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to align with project goals.
- Manage change control processes in line with contractual conditions.
Business Case Development & Benefits Realisation:
- Draft and update business cases to meet project needs.
- Define, track, and deliver project benefits effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience managing public sector projects, including local and central government contracts.
- Chartered Project Professional (APM) status or equivalent, or evidence of working towards accreditation.
- PMQ and NEC 3/4 accreditation (preferred).
- Ability to secure SC or DV security clearance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Collaborative leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with project tools such as programmes, risk registers, and quality assurance plans.
Desirable:
- Experience in the nuclear sector or related industries.
- Valid UK driving licence.
